Steeby Elementary houses nearly 250 third and fourth graders.  Every morning, our vibrant youngsters enter the school ready to learn and are greeted by a staff that is dedicated to education.  We are committed to provide each student with a learning environment that is challenging and meets their individual needs.  We are also committed to demonstrating our passion for learning by modeling for each student the importance of life long learning.  We are also committed to inspiring our students to become caring contributors to our community and the world around them.

Steeby is passionate about literacy and our staff devotes a minimum of ninety minutes daily to literacy instruction.  We are also committed to using data to provide each student with the best opportunity to improve in reading through our Response to Intervention reading program.  This additional reading instruction places students in focused groups based on their individual reading needs.  Literacy is also the focus of our school improvement process.

We also feel that respect and trust are essential to the learning process.  We have implemented a Positive Behavior Support system that focuses on high expectations for everyone at Steeby Elementary.  Through this process our students will have the best environment possible to live out our core principles:  CHALLENGE * INSPIRE * CONTRIBUTE.
